Re: he wanted the boy to havethem someday
Someone ("he") said at some time in the past that a certain boy should, at some future date ("someday") be given something.
Little Bobby was born 10 years ago. His father collects stamps. His father says "Someday, I want my son to have my stamp collection." Now the father is dead. Someone asks "What shall we do with his stamp collection?" You say "He wanted the boy to have them someday."
I'm not a teacher, but I write for a living. Please don't ask me about 2nd conditionals, but I'm a safe bet for what reads well in (American) English.
