Default The "hole in one" joke?

Why did the Golfer take an extra pair of pants?

in case he gets a hole in one

May I ask how's an extra pair of pants related to "hole in one"?

It is a joke, a play on words. He took an extra pair of pants (trousers in BrE) in case his first pair should develop a hole.
