Hello everyone,

I'd like to know the correct spelling of this word, as I have seen the three of them, and if there is any difference between them.

Many thanks for your help

When a single-word compound noun is being formed it often goes through stages: 2 words, hyphenated words, one word.

In my experience, the word "newcomer" is usually one word at this point.

All the dictionaries here list 'newcomer' as a single word – even the 1913 edition of Webster.

If you type in "new-comer" there you get one hit -- Wordknik.

Lecword, there is no need to write a new post to say "Thanks". There is a "Thank" button on every post. Simply click on that button on any post you find helpful. That saves us coming to a thread which has a new post, only to find that it contains no new content.
