Default "I'm sorry, but I don't remember meeting Mary, but by the end of the/that night I was

Do you remember my friend, mary, from my birthday party? I reply with:

"I'm sorry, but I don't remember meeting Mary, but by the end of the/that night I was drunk out of my mind and couldn't function properly, so please forgive me."

    Are both ok?
