Is there any difference?

Are there any tendecies as to the use of go and do with activities? Will it be more natural if we say "do some rowing" in #1? Do we do mountain climbing or go mountain-climbing? What about cycling?

"Go" is more common for physical activities. We go swimming, rock climbing. skiing, golfing, jogging, cycling, etc.
