What's the difference between the words plead, entreat, beg and implore?

"Give me one more chance," he begged.

Can plead, entreat or implore replace begged in the sentence above?

Have you looked the words up in a dictionary?

Have you looked the words up in a dictionary?

Yes, I have. The American Heritage Dictionary's definition for all four is "to request earnestly". So, there is no clarity about the differences between these words. Can they all be used interchangeably or is there some difference between them?

You mean you only looked up one dictionary? I guess that's smarter than not looking at any, but still not best practice.
No, they are definitely not interchangeable. For example, you can't "entreat, beg or implore" "Not guilty". You generally don't implore for money on a street corner, or entreat for forgiveness.
