Hi, everyone!

What does it mean in English?

To works somewhere for a short time –with or without the chance of being paid- to let the employer see if you are qualified enough for that job.
I wonder if this period of time or this kind of job means anything special.

As pilot job/ period or testing job/period?

It seems a probationary period.

Not a teacher.

In the US, you can do an unpaid internship as a learning experience. It's supposed to be for your benefit, to apply what you've learned in school.

You cannot legally work for an employer without getting paid to do work that benefits the employer.

You can be hired (at a lower rate of pay, perhaps) for trial period and at the end, be let go or brought on as a full employee. You can be hired and have a probationary period. But you can't go work for the company and not get paid just to show that you can do the job.

I do appreciate you. :cross: (Incorrect in this context.)

I appreciate your help.
I appreciate it.

Please note, however, that there is no reason to write a new post just to express your gratitude. Each post has a "Thank" button in the bottom left-hand corner. Simply click it on any response you find helpful. It saves us all time.

Gee, sorry. I have been absent for a long time, so [no comma] I am not used to the new format of the site.

A click on the 'Thank' button would have saved time here, too.
