    Question A few sentences

Hi, could you help me with the following sentences?

    1. "Following the results obtained by Smith (2000), we have applied..."
The second version of this sentence: "Following Smith (2000), we have applied..." Are they both correct?

    2. "In general, the algorithm A was seldom the best; either was approach B, although..." Is it fine?

    3. Should it be, "The best way is to apply all the algorithms and to choose the best one," or "The best way is to apply all the algorithms and choose the best one."

    4. "The only possible reason of why the algorithm did not work is that ..." Is it fine?

Thanks a lot -- in advance.
    Best,
    Nyggus

    Default Re: A few sentences

    Hello Nyggus

    1. "Following the results obtained by Smith (2000), we have applied..."
The second version of this sentence: "Following Smith (2000), we have applied..." Are they both correct?

-- Both seem fine to me.

    2. "In general, the algorithm A was seldom the best; either was approach B, although..."

    -- Change "either" to "neither".

    3. Should it be, "The best way is to apply all the algorithms and to choose the best one," or "The best way is to apply all the algorithms and choose the best one."

    -- Both versions are fine.

    4. "The only possible reason of why the algorithm did not work is that ..."

-- "The only possible reason why..."
