There are a number of restaurants/diners named "Bacon Barn". I have never heard a dish named that.

I suppose it could be a slang name for a building to house pigs on a farm.

It's "barm" with an em.

Apparently it is a type of roll/bun made originally with yeast skimmed off the top of fermenting beer or liquor.

So, it's a regional name for a sandwich in parts of England made with this type of roll.

I just learned about "butty" a couple years ago from a TV show.

I was going to comment about all the weird names you guys come up with for sandwiches, but then I remembered we have hoagies and grinders and po' boys over here.
