Is the paragraph natural English? Please help me correct the errors. Thanks!

On one hand, although amounts used for manufacturing individual chopsticks are small, note that hydrogen peroxide is highly corrosive. In extreme cases, excessive and long-term exposure can lead to DNA damage. On the other hand, noxious sulfur dioxide, after prolonged exposure, can harm respiratory mucus membranes, the esophagus and stomach.

In an academic paper this language seems natural enough to me. But, given more context, it might be possible to improve the English.

I wouldn't want to work that hard at it. Plus I am tired of posts about chopsticks.
