"mother puts/stands a toddler against a tree in a park for it to relieve itself"

Hello everybody!

What is the English for "putting/standing a toddler against a tree in a park for it to relieve itself".

Suppose a mother took her little toddler out for a walk. Suddenly the baby starts crying. The mother asks the baby: "What's wrong with you"?
The baby answers: " I badly need to go the toilet". The mother takes the toddler by the hand and walks it deep into the forest. Then, she stands it against a tree so that the baby can relieve itself.

What do you call the activity

Jacke, a "baby" and a "toddler" are not the same thing. A baby is in diapers and doesn't talk.
A toddler does not say "I badly have to go to the toilet."

However what they did was go pee in the woods.
Usually you use the tree to keep people from seeing you - you don't "stand against the tree."

I must admit that I am not an expert on children.
Isn't there one word to describe the activity, for instance, "drain a baby"?

Barb is right, of course. A toddler would say something like, "Mommy, I have to go pee."

"Drain a baby" is not an English phrase (at least, I don't think so), but maybe it should be.

It's mostly little boys who pee against a tree.

"Public urination" is the criminal charge.

Not for toddlers, surely.

In my (childless) opinion, peeing in public should result in a criminal charge for the perpetrator or the parent! I have to say, though, that "drain a baby" is such a wonderful phrase that I really, really think it should start being used. I am still giggling. It's fantastic!

I had understood that they crept into the woods to avoid drawing attention to themselves. If the mother just pointed to the nearest tree and told her toddler to pee on it, I'd be horrified.

C'mon, what are you going to charge a two-year-old for? Public exposure?

(Busy trying to think of a reason to use "drain a baby".)

That's why I said "or a parent". I would charge an adult with something if they peed in public and I would charge a parent if they openly got their child to pee in public. I'm not a prude but there are some things I just don't need to see!
