    Default Re: "records as muggers"

A mugger is a thief who robs people on the street. Usually, a mugger doesn't use a weapon, nor does he confront the victim; it's usually a situation where he sneaks up on a pedestrian, catches them by surprise, and snatches their purse, or necklace, or something else of value, and then runs off.

"records as muggers" means that the person has been arrested and convicted of the crime, and has a police record on file.
