Hello everyone,

I am a new EFL teacher and I am looking for some advice.
I have started private tutoring to a couple of 10 year old children. I started teaching based on what they do in school but I want to take it a step further. I am looking for a suitable course books so I can base some of my teaching on the flow of a course book. Lacking experience makes it time consuming designing a lesson plan without a guide.

I would really appreciate it if you could drop some ideas where to look for some or if you have any suggestions on which course book to use. As I said, they are 10 years old, elementary -A2 level, of Greek origin but born and brought up in Germany. I am mostly interested in books written only in English, though.
Given the fact that it is hard to review a book online, I would really appreciate any specific suggestions.

Thank you

Try here and look for the catalogue, and your nearest supplier. http://www.pearsonelt.com/

I have been successful in teaching pupils of this age group with The "Excellent" range of course books. Also try "Friends". It's important to get whole packages with audio tapes, flash cards, posters etc. It looks like your pupils are ready to prepare for YLE flyers, or even Cambridge KET. Search KET for schools.
