I need to make student awards (certificates) for the 1st, 2nd and 3rd places in a phonetic competition. Students will be reciting poetry (each student will be reciting a different verse).
What should I write in the text of the certificate? Will it be OK if I write:

FIRST PLACE AWARD

is presented to ____________

for reciting poetry

:?:

That's a good one. However, you might also consider:

For excellence in poetry presentation, first place goes to: ____________

(Are you going to ask me if you may use some of mine?)

Of course, you have the right to copyright what you write. :)

Yes, you are right. But I have been posting some of them on this forum partly so they won't get lost. If you would like to use one or more of them (by either Tarheel or RonBee) feel free to do so. But I would like to know how well they go over with the students. (I used to work with 3rd, 4th, and 5th graders, and they really liked the poems. (They were, for the most part, different from the ones I post here.))

Ah, sorry, I thought you meant the way you put the words for the certificate. I didn't know you write poetry. What's the simplest way for me to find it on the forum?

The people on this forum do only get half the package. You can read the poems, but you don't get to hear the way I read them. (Poems are for reading and for listening to.)

Some like to say recite. Some like to say read. Some like to say present.
