    Default on preposition

    please tell me the difference:

    1. Please finish your work "by" five o' clock.

    2. Please finish your work "until" five o' clock.

    Thanks!

The first is correct. The second doesn't work. You could say 'you have until five o'clock to finish your work'.

    Coffee?
    Coffee, anyone?
    Anyone for (a) coffee?
    Anyone want (a) coffee?

All of these are fine in informal conversation.
