Hello,

I had been very surprised to see the pronunciation of the word "outer" as " 'oudər" on Oxfordictionaries.com ( Nevermind the "ou", they don't use IPA notation, my question is about the "d" ) . The way I use it is as "ˈaʊtər". Then I looked it up in other online dictionaries and saw that they give the pronunciation of the word as the way I do. So my question is ; Is the pronunciation " 'oudər" given by Oxfordictionaries.com incorrect or is it the way the Americans pronunciate that word ?

The link to that page is http://www.oxforddictionaries.com/us/definition/american_english/outer

I like to think that I always say "outer" (I'm a Canuck) but Oxford is right: "oudar" is often heard in AmE, probably even from me.
