    People is or People are.

    Dear all members:

I found this sentence in an English course book
' There not enough people to support three cinemas, but there's enough for one'.

My question is ; can we use both is and are with people?
I mean is't considered single and plural?

    Thanks in abvance

Re: People is or People are.

    Hi,

    Interesting question!

I would personally use 'are', rather than 'is'. However, I am no expert!

    Best wishes,

    Iain.

Re: People is or People are.

"People" is the plural of "person" : People are.
