    Money amount

    I have another question;

    when we talk about money we can say' five pounds is alot to pay'
    is that correct? if yes, which grammer rule is related to?

    Yes, but a lot should be written as two words.

    Money, even when the numbers are plural, is generally treated as a singular things, a sum, which explains the use of is there.
