    Default journal-ist

    Hello,
I've seen 'journalist' written as 'journal-ist' a few times....as though to distinguish the two. I don't think I understand the difference, though.

Anyone care to enlighten me? What point do you think an auther would be trying to make by classifying someone as a 'journalist' and another as a 'journal-ist'?

A "journalist" is a professional person who writes media copy for newspapers, magazines or TV/Radio. A "journal-ist" would be someone who writes a private journal, perhaps of their travel experiences.
