    Default Growing or to grow

Which of the following is a better sentence?

    1. I told you many times already, it's a better idea growing marijuana in your own backyard. Or,

    2. Replace "growing" with "to grow."

    Thanks a lot.

I think "to grow" works better there. Example:
    • It is a better idea to grow marijuana in your own back yard than elsewhere.

I agree with Ron, but it is interesting to see what happens if the sentence is rearranged.

As I told you many times already, growing marijuana in your own back yard is a better idea.

When switched around, the gerund is the better choice.
