    Which sentence of the following two is correct, please? I'd pick #2 but am not too sure. 1) I hope you don't mind me calling you late. 2) I hope you don't mind my calling you late.

    Strictly, #2 is correct-- it is not the person who might be unpleasant, but the late telephone call.

    Having said that, #1 is in wide, informal use, and can no longer be called 'incorrect' except in formal circumstances, as when taking a language proficiency test or writing a letter of application to a university.
