yocjan, please note that a better title would have been Stamford police have nothing on me.

Extract from the Posting Guidelines:

They did not connect her to the crime through that sentence. They made the connection through the word scratched on the car.

I do not understand why it is relevant to mention that social media post then.

The reporter thought it amusing that the woman boasted that the police had nothing on here, when in fact they did have something on her.

I was told not to reply just to thank someone, instead I should use the "thank" button but I have seen you forgot to add the word "was" between it and amusing so I am telling you here about that and also at the same time I would like to thank all that answered.

yochan, 'The reporter thought it amusing' is perfectly correct. Piscean did not err.

Always capitalise 'I'.

It's perfectly acceptable to say:

I thought it funny that ...
He found it amusing that ...
They deemed it illegal ...

If you wanted to use "was" somewhere, you would have to add "that" as well:

I thought that it was funny that ...
He found that it was amusing that ...
They deemed that it was illegal ...

In AmE we don't need to add "that" after "thought" in "I thought (that) it was funny that ...".
