What is the correct form to write an RSVP on your own stationery?

    Hello, Wally.

Write some variation of the following:

'Joseph Mackenzie and guest, Rachel Helfond, accept with pleasure the invitation to dine with the Stellmans on 15 June 2001.'

Or if you cannot attend, send your regrets:

'I regret that I will not be attending the dinner party, as I must be out of town.'

it is a french word and means ( please answer)

"Please answer" = "Répondez s'il vous plait"...

It reminds me of when I was a student: I had a summer job in a bank, and they asked me to translate a letter they received from Britain.
It was not very difficult, but I spent some time trying to figure out why the person had written "TOP" at the bottom of the page...

    To All Personnel?

    Re: Rsvp

It wasn't "To Oll Personnel", but:

    Turn Over Please...

BTW, do you know if there is any equivalent common expression for "Ce Qu'il Faut Dire", "What is to be said"?...

    Re: Rsvp

Does not "Ce Qu'il Faut Dire" mean "It needs to be said"? I thought 'il faut' meant "it must be' or 'it is necessary', but my French is quite rusty.

    Re: Rsvp

You're quite right, your French is not that rusty, you see.

But I thought "is to be said" conveyed a meaning of general truth, some kind of externality, a form of definite judgement on something, which is how I understand this expression in French.

The most difficult when you learn a language is when you try to make people smile, and you end up just being confusing, and embarrassed...

Being witty is still far from reach for me, I'm afraid

    I will speak no more.

    I will unsubscribe right now.

(Naaah, I'm just pulling your leg...)
