Infinitives are not always nouns. I think I will end this discussion with a song.

You say tomahto, I say tomato
You say verb, I say verbal
Tomahto tomato
Verb, verbal.

I think it's clicking in, I think it just sounds odd because I've never used or seen two infinitives in a row. ...to watch stars to rotate...

Mike and I share an interest in grammar and in finding the clearest explanations of points of grammar that may help a learner.

That's fine, but wouldn't the clearest explanation depend on the learner?

Teaching should always depend on the learner. But we get people from all stages of life and learning here. We have to depend on learners asking questions.
