When I saw the contents of post #1, I immediately thought of the A-ha song (one of my favourites and still one of the cleverest pop videos ever made). However, I had to admit that, within the context of that song, the phrase "Take On Me" doesn't mean anything at all. I've never been able to work out what they were on about.

In a sentence such as "What is your take on me?", it means "What is your opinion of me?" but, on its own, it's meaningless.

I think the phrase could mean 'Take me on' ='accept me in your life'.

Yes, I believe that Piscean is correct if we are referring to the a-ha song. In my memory, I can hear the singer also pleading, "Take me on!" As he'll be gone in a day or two. I am thinking that he wants her to accept him for some
thing a little less long lasting than life!;-)
