I am a new EFL language teacher, and looking for pre-test/post test of idioms which can show me about their idiomatic knowledge. Any suggestion?

This list is something I produced years ago, not aimed at pre-/post-test specifically, but maybe you could do something with it. I used to cut it up into idioms and definitions and ask Ss to sort them into pairs.

(If the idioms don't suit your brand of English, you can add some of your own.)

Good luck :hi:

It's easy and fun to make up your own quiz. Just think of some idioms you know, write a simple definition and then add some false ones, including one that's a more literal interpretation.
