    Question Call it (as)?

    Hi:
    Which one is correct?
    1. "We call these procedures as the "optimum procedures of..." OR
    1. "We call these procedures the "optimum procedures of..."?
The question is whether this "as" word should be put there or not. I vote on (1), but someone indicated it as a mistake. Is it a mistake?

    Thanks!

Yes, it is a mistake. The correct sentence is the second one. BTW, you labelled both sentences as (1), so you are on to a sure thing .

How do you think, did I label them in such a way on purpose or by mistake ? I always like to be right!

There's the idiom 'call a spade a spade', but not 'call a spade as a spade'.
