    Default degree of Adverb + good

    Hi,

    Here is one problem troubling me now.

    Could you please tell me where I sholud put 'Good.' in between the expressions?

    Fairly good.< Quite good.< Pretty good.< Rather good.< Very good.

    It's difficult to place it exactly- rather good can be used in a way similar to fairly or as a stronger form, depending on the emphasis in speech.

    By the way, where can "Good!" be put in between? This is excatly what I'd like to know. :)

    Could you give us an example? The previous examples do not show the adjective good between two words, and the last example, Good! is not the same as good.

    I'm sorry there is no example. According to my english grammar book,

    Practical English Usage, the degree of those "answers" is like the same I wrote above.

    While I studied the degree of them, I was wondering if just "Good!"(as an answer) was stronger than 'Farily good!' or 'Pretty good'.

    I'd like to know whether 'Good.' is stronger than 'Farily good.' and weaker than 'Pretty good.'.

    To me, spoon,

    Good! is stronger than Farily good and Pretty good.
    Good is the same as Farily good but weaker than Pretty good.

    Uhm, shouldn't it be "fairly good".
