    Default help please !

Hi,there are 2 sentences that i dont quite understand between " gerund and infinitif " herewith 4 examples : " I need to take more exercice " - " This jacket is dirty , it needs cleaning " . " I know , i locked the door, i remember locking it " - " please, remember to post the letter " . so what's the difference between " infinitif and gerund " ?

    Thanks in advance.

Gerund is -ing form. Infinitve - to ...

For example... I remembered posting the letter. (he meaning is that you remember doing that.
I remembered to post the letter. (You remembered that you had to post the letter, so you did it.)

You should search the web or this site for explanations on the use of gerunds and infinitives.

You can find there anything you want regarding this topic [with explanations and exercises].

I myself searched the web and this site and found lots of examples explained.

It is a very complex and complicated topic for ESL learners.

    Regards,
