    Question Help out vs. help

Hi, is there any actual difference between help out and help?

I don't think so; help out is used in the form of help sb out, and the difference between help and help out is probably very subtle--hence my question.

    Re: Help out vs. help

It's a tough one as 'help out' is about giving assistance, but I think it is often used for specific help at a particular time.

As tdol says, the difference is very subtle. Help out can also be used in this way - "I helped out with the housework today." - so is not always separable.
