    lie / lies

    Hello,

My students and I are having a problem finding out why this sentence is 'incorrect'. Our textbook has us find the 'wrong' answer. We are sure this one is wrong, but can't figure out why. Any ideas?

'Your soul is in your center, in which lies your deepest convictions and values.'

    Sincerely,
    sn

I would use at your centre, but in is ok. My spelling of center is BE. The only other possible error is that some would use lays instead of lies, but again I think this may be a BE/AE usage difference rather than an error. In general the sentence makes sense.

It might be a problem of word order and also you can change the word "convictions".

Your soul is in your center, in which your deepest beliefs and values lie.
