Thumbs up G and Z sound so alike...

Can anyone show me how to pronounce the letters accurately?

When someone spells his/her name to me, I mistake g for z and vice versa all the time.

Re: G and Z sound so alike...

It's a matter of placement of your tongue. For the "G" sound the tongue is pulled back and placed on the roof of the mouth; similar to the 'Ch' sound, but with sound from the vocal cords...For the "Z" sound the tongue is placed near the teeth on the roof of the mouth like the 'S' sound, but with sound from the vocal cords. I hope this helps...
