    Re: Doctors!!!

Eye specialist is a widely used term, especially for a doctor whose advice a person with an eyesight problem seeks; a medical term for a doctor who deals with the various eye / eyeball diseases is ophtalmologist.

Optician is another example, though not a doctor per se.

    Re: Doctors!!!

An optomotrist gives eye exams and prescribes (and fits) glasses and contact lenses.

An opthamologist can do the above and also treats diseases of the eye.

    Thanks in advance,
    zoobinshid,

A dermatologist is a skin doctor.

Some of the other specialists are -

A cardiologist is a heart doctor.

A podiatrist is a foot doctor.

A pediatrician is a doctor who treats babies and young children.

A gynecologist treats women's health problems.

A nephrologist treats diseases involving the kidney.

    A psychiatrist treats mental problems.
A psychiatrist is a medical doctor. A psychologist also
treats mental problems, but he is not a medical doctor.

    An oncologist treats cancer.

There are other specialists such as orthopedist (bones),
endocrinologist (diseases related to various glands),
urologist (urinary tract and related organs),
gastroenterologist (digestive diseases), pulmonologist (lungs), and so on.
