    .
Gerunds are verb forms ending in -ing and used as nouns.
Infinitives are the dictionary form of the verb, and may appear with or without a prefatory particle 'to'.

    Hello, anhtu,
I'm afraid the only way is cramming. If you learn a list, for example
    admit
    avoid
    look forward to

it's difficult to remember. It is always better to anchor it to some context. I suggest cramming phrases instead:
He admits being indifferent to art.
I avoid dealing with such people.
My sister looks forward to visiting Liverpool.

In addition try to make several sentences of your own with each of these verbs.
    Best wishes

Gerunds are nouns that look like verbs (or verbs used as nouns; take your pick). Infinitives are verb forms.
    I am painting a picture.
    I like that painting.
(Since the infinitive is usually considered the "to" form of a verb ("to paint") it is hard for me to see how anybody can get them confused.)

My guess, though I may well be wrong, is that Anhtu wanted to know how and when to use them.
