    The Blue Paintings

In a conversation between a student and a professor,
Stduent: "I was thinking about your paintings as I Looked at them, and , maybe I'm wrong, but some of them seem to...kind of belong together.

Prof."You know, there's a long story behind the paintings you are talking about...By the way, I call them "The blue Paintings"...Well to answer your question, when I did them, it had really been my intent to use a certain approach."

I don't understand the meaning of 'the Blue Paintings"
is it really blue in color or does the term "the Blue Paintings" have another meaning?

    please help me.

There is not enough context to be certain. It could just mean the predominant colour of the paintings, but it could also represent a personal theme. One use of blue is to describe being sad or depressed.
