involving or getting involved in ?

    Dear teacher,
I am wondering if the sentence is correct. The government is criticized for involving the scandal. I think in this case, one should use the phrase, getting involved in sth. So the sentence would be, The government is criticized for getting involved in the scandal.

    hi,
i think your sentence could be like this:
-the government is criticized for being involved in the scandal.
-also the second one seems to be correct.

    regards

Yes, I agree. Getting/being involved in. Also, involving itself is a possibility.
