hi,

I would like to add that "eat like a horse" means eat very lage quantities of food; while "eat your head off" means eat a lot, often at a great cost.

"to eat like a pig" means to eat a lot, or to eat noisily or sloppily.

This is a great thread and I'm having a whale of a time reading it.
To have a whale of a time means that you are having a lot of fun.

put the cart before the horse
To do or place things in improper order; be illogical.

Example: I think that buying a plane ticket before we make any definite plans is putting the cart before the horse...
