    Dear sir:
    This is my first time to post.
    I like English as I like China and I want to study English well!
    I have some questions:
    1.If the building project ________by the end of this month is releayed, the construction company will be fined.
    A:being comleted B:is completed C:to be completed D:completed
    2.He wasn't appointed chairman of the committee,_____________not very popular with all its members.
    A:to be considered B:considering C:being considered D:having considered
    I chose:
    1.D
    2.D
    The right:
    1.C
    2.C
    I often made mistake on questions such like these .

    First, decide what you would put in the blank. Then see which of the options matches your choice. What makes the most sense there is to be completed, meaning that is when construction is scheduled to be finished.

    What makes the most sense there is because he was. Thus, the sentence would be: "He wasn't appointed chairman of the committee, because he was not very popular with the committee members."

    Now, let's look at the options given. They are:
    • A:to be considered B:considering C:being considered D:having considered


    The closest to the answer "we" chose is C:being considered, which means they (the committee members) didn't consider him very popular with themselves. It's not a good way of saying it, but it's the best of the choices given.
