    GRE:Verbal Ability

    winnow:chaff

    (A)skim:cream
    (B)pare:fruit
    (C)filter:impurities

Since "winnow" means to get rid of something unwanted, (C) stands out. But I think both A and B are fine too. What do you think?

    Thanks,
    Me

    C is correct. No doubt.

    Thanks,

but my point is that I think (A) and (B) seem to be okay. It's just that they are not the best choice. Would you think so?
