    Pronunce 'an L' or 'a L'?

Please advise on the right way of using 'an' or 'a' in the following example:

"I need to find an LP player."

    or

"I need to find a LP player."

My guess is the 1st one since the L sounds like EL. Am I correct? Thanks a lot.

Yes, use an with initial vowel sounds, not necessarily the vowel itself.

    An LP player

    A UN resolution
