    Dear teachers,

    Would you please tell me the difference between:

    Scraping one’s car:

    Scratching one’s car:

    Which one is worse ?

    A dictionary might help here, but the way I see it a scrape is a generalized abrasion and a scratch is one defined line of damage. Given that, a scrape is usually shallower.

    Which you prefer is a question of car maintenance! A scrape makes a bigger (visual) impression, but is probably easier to treat if you have the right stuff.
