    mutual and common

    Dear teachers,

Could you please explain the difference between 'common interest' and 'mutual interest'? I found them confusing.

Looking forward to hearing from you.

    Thank you in advance.

    Jiang

    Re: mutual and common

Mutual interest can be used in business where there is financial benefit, etc, to the parties. Common interest just means, to me, that people are interested in the same thing, which could also be referred to as mutual.
