    Hi Guys again,

I might make my question clearer.

If I want talk about something I did long time ago after some action happened before, which one phrase should I use (i.e. after finishing or after finished)? For example, if I started some job after my study, should I say:

After finished my study, I started my job in ...

    OR

After finishing my study, I started my job in ...

    Thanks heaps

HI, As for as my knowledge is concerned, finished and finishing both are right. But if you are using FINISHED, you will have to use HAVING instead of After.
    For instance,
    1)
Having finished my study,I started my job.
    2) After finishing my study,I started my job.I hope I try my best 2 make u understand.bye

Re: after finishing or after finished

    Thanks MOONA for your help.

But does the sentence: Having finished my study,I started my job. mean that it is not necessary I have finished my study now? [like: if I finish my study, I will start my job]

The situation I want describe is happened long time ago [I finished my study and also not working in that job anymore].

So can I conclude that the sentence: After FINISHING my study, I started my job in ... is more correct?

Again, thank you very much for your reply.

Both versions set the following action at a time after you have finished your studies.

    Having finished my studies....
    After finishing my studies....

If you are speaking of a following action in the past, both are equally acceptable.

This one is not natural, Foreigner. Mike changed it to "Having finished", which is okay.

    OR

After finishing my study, I started my job in ...
