Red face Repeated Letters In English Words

I have a problem. I don't know which are the words with reapeated letters. (ex: letter, opposite, discuss)
Is there a rule which tells us when we should write with double letters?

    Please help me.

    Thanks a lot.

We all wish that such a rule existed, but it doesn't. The only way to learn the chaotic English spelling system is to memorize it through practice.
