    Is there a term to describe phrases like the following. I want to look up more but I don't know what to call them:
    nuts and bolts
    ins and outs
    pots and pans
    bread and butter
    meat and potatoes
    socks and shoes
    up and down

    I would call them common collocations. Perhaps someone knows another name.
