This report outlines the results of students survey about the school restaurant and give some practical suggestion for improving more contemprorary situation.
At first, one of the biggest advantages is low price and high quality of meals. Half of students are also satisfied with good standard of cooking, cleaness and courtesy of staff.
Secondly, the majority complaints on a similar choose of dishes. It means a use of same ingredients such as curry on every Friday. There is a lack of vegetarian food, apart from salads. Then, some students does not prefer tasteless instant coffee. Other difficulty is that students of drama class are stressed by a shortage of time for their lunch because they finish at 1.30 pm. and the restaurant closes at 2 pm. Moreover, students canīt often find any table which is not occupied, for enjoying their meals on busy days.
Finally , the biggest challange is to prepare more various dishes than now. It could be manage by involving some vegetarian food in it and by radical change of ingredience. It can easily cause slightly higher price of lunch than before. On the other hand, students will not protest when it have a possitive effect on dishes. The coffee making machine should be bought for preparing better coffee too. In addition, some tables can be added and the timetable of student might correspond more with open hours in the restaurant .
REPORT ON SCHOOL RESTAURANT
This report outlines the results of students survey about the school restaurant and gives some practical suggestion for improving the present situation:
The biggest advantage is the low price and high quality of the meals. Half of the students were also satisfied with the good standard of cooking, cleanliness and courtesy of the staff.
The majority of complaints were concerning the lack of choice of dishes. There was also a lack of variety on offer, for instance, curry is served every Friday.
There is also a lack of vegetarian dishes, apart from salads. Some students said they did not like the tasteless instant coffee on offer
Another difficulty is that students in the drama class are disadvantaged by a shortage of time for their lunch as they finish at 1.30 pm. and the restaurant closes at 2 pm.
Space is limited especially at busy periods when quite often students are unable to find an unoccupied table to enjoy their meal.
Effort must be made to increase choice, both in the normal menu and in catering for vegetarians. There needs to be a radical change in the menu making it more attractive and interesting, even if this means a slight increase in price. The survey shows that students would accept this increase if it had a positive effect on the menu. Investment should be made to provide a modern coffee maker which will provide a variety of tastes. Finally, more tables should be provided and the hours of opening should be changed to accommodate the needs of the students
