Default pronunciation of participle when used as an adjective

participle learned when used as an adjentive is pronounced as learn-ed.
e.g He is a learn-ed man. Is it a rule to pronounce participle as -ed- when used as an adjective? if yes then what do u think about earned .. is it earned or earn-ed ?
please give me reply with explanation.

"Learned" is the exception to the rule.

That's good, even though 'belove" as a verb was obsolete a long time ago.
