Scotland Yard--the chief British investigative agency
    The Pentagon--the US defense department

A person might say he spoke to Scotland Yard meaning he spoke to somebody at Scotland Yard. He might say "The Pentagon said...." meaning it was spoken by somebody at the Pentagon.

(Psst, Tdol! It should be on Wall Street. (Not in Wall Street.)

    :)
