    Is fingernail a single word or finger nail ? How about the plural form

    It's all one word: fingernail, fingernails. If the word were separated, like finger-nail, it would mean that the nail is like a finger.

    It's all one word: fingernail, fingernails. If the word were separated, like finger-nail, it would mean that the nail is like a finger.

    finger-nail = the nail like finger. Then it would be a very unique fingernail :)
