    Caterer/Distributor/Supplyer/Provider/Purveyor

I'm not quite sure about which the differences are between those words. In which case each of them should be used ?

    Thanks in advance, teacher.

    Go to:

    Dictionary.com

enter each word in the search box and all will be revealed. Also it is supplier, not supplyer

    Re: Caterer/Distributor/Supplyer/Provider/Purveyor

A caterer is a business that provides food service for another.
A supplier is a business that provides a particular item at an agreed upon price.
A provider provides goods and services at a price.

Generally speaking, a distributor buys things from wholesalers and sells them to retailers.

A purveyor is pretty much the same thing as a provider or supplier.

A collocation you're very likely to meet when using the net: an ISP is an Internet Service Provider.
